The event aims to reinforce the indigenous presence at the university and discuss the challenges for it to become more inclusive. With the choice of the theme, the intention is to seek interconnection with nature in the wisdom of ancestors and, thus, solutions to current problems, such as land demarcation, preservation of biomes and inequalities. The event also has the support of yandê – academic league for indigenous affairs, the center for afro-brazilian and i Germany Mobile Number List ndigenous studies (neabi) and the caipora project – indigenous ethnomídia as decolonial practice.To celebrate aviator and brazilian air force day, the santa maria air base music band (basm) will hold, on october 18th, at 8pm, a concert at the ufsm convention center. This year, the show, which is already traditional for the people of santa maria, will have the theme “rock in the heights”. The basm music band promises a repertoire of classics that will take the public on a journey through time and the history of rock. The concert will feature guest musicians from the brazilian army, the military brigade and civilians. With the support of ufsm, the presentation will have free entry and will be charitable: to enter the venue, in addition to presenting the invitation, the delivery of 1kg of non-perishable food will be required, to be destined for children in the forças no esporte program (profesp).
The opening of the exhibition “denegrir ii – mostra coletiva de artistas negros” takes place this monday (9), at 7pm, at sala monet plaza arte, at monet plaza shopping, av. Fernando ferrari, 1483, santa maria. The event is held by the collective arte negra em movimento (anem), center for afro-brazilian and indigenous studies (neabi), human rights observatory (odh), center for arts and letters (cal) and dean of extension (pre ), with support from the association of friends of the santa maria art museum (amasm), santa maria art museum (masm), santa maria city hall and the 13 de maio museum. On the occasion, there will be a presentation of the exhibition project and a conversation between the participating artists. The community will be able to visit the exhibition until october 31st, during monet plaza shopping opening hours. The works produced for the exhibition reflect a face-to-face meeting that rescued historical facts and visual references that expand the artists' critical awareness to rewrite the present and sow the decolonization of views, mainly of black people, on their own body and culture.
