Binance has launched a series consisting of six videos dedicated to our compliance experts and their opinions on various topics.
In the third video of this series, we will discover the work carried out by Binance's compliance and investigation teams.
To ensure that Binance can present itself to users around the world and realize the vision of increasing the freedom of money, we need to have some of the best compliance and investigation experts in the world. And that's exactly what Binance has done: we've built a strong team that has grown over the years. Today we'll look at what the compliance and investigation teams at Binance do and how they help make the cryptocurrency world safer and more user-centric.
This video is the third in a series of six blog posts in which we will highlight the leaders of our compliance and investigation team and hear their opinions on various topics.
In this week's video, Matt Price, international director of intelligence and investigations, highlights that his team's main objective is to protect our clients, our users and the cryptocurrency Ecuador Mobile Number List ecosystem in general. Binance conducts proactive investigations where Matt's team attempts to identify cybercriminals in the cryptocurrency sector and take steps to mitigate the risks they create. His team also works closely with authorities and regulatory bodies around the world to share information and intelligence on potential criminal activities. And finally, the research team also teaches and trains people around the world on how to conduct this type of research, including how to leverage the tools effectively, how to track cryptocurrency transactions, and much more.
Chagri Poyraz, our International Director of Sanctions at Binance, also appears in this week's video and talks about how his team develops internal controls and tools that help with compliance without having a major impact on the Binance customer experience. The Chagri team is focused on making sure our customers understand Binance's sanctions program, which is why we are directly linked to customer service. Everything we develop at Binance and each of our new products must comply with regulations around the world. That's why his team helps create the right compliance controls while they're designing the product, rather than fixing it later when we're exposed to regulatory pressures.
In the video, Richard Teng, regional director of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, highlights that governments want to continue developing their economy, and in that sense the economy of cryptocurrencies on Web3 is extremely important. That's why at Binance we are always looking for ways to collaborate with governments and support their development of Web3 and the cryptocurrency ecosystem. We also look at how to support the talent pool in the sector. Next, Richard highlights that Binance works closely with regulators to better understand the rules and regulations and complies with them to offer our products in the best possible way.
This week's video also features Tigran Gambaryan, Compliance Director for Financial Crime Prevention at Binance. Tigran highlights that the work carried out by his department has a direct impact on people's lives. For example, our law enforcement team responds to requests from authorities around the world. According to Tigran, in 2022 alone his team responded to more than 50,000 requests from authorities. Without a doubt, this is crucial work that directly impacts the lives of people around the world.
