Jaeger (Real name unknown)
Jaeger - The Fourth - Scourge/Storm of Galingale - The Bent Knight/Corsair
January Twenty-third
The Outskirts, a coast off the Galingale Ocean
187lbs, 5 Feet and 11 Inches
Appearance:
Jaeger's shoulder length dark brown hair flares out to the sides, with bangs stopping below a piercing gold right eye. A simple black eye patch covers his marred left eye from a past battle. His features are gaunt, with two unique U-shaped patches of scruff lining his chin. With a complexion a shade darker than most, he is tanned, but not fully. In terms of musculature he is wiry and taut. Numerous scars run ragged across his body underneath his clothes.
In fitting attire for a privateer, a long black frock coat is always drooped over Jaeger's wide shoulders. He dons a partially unbuttoned white collared shirt with ruffled cuffs underneath an emerald waistcoat. A brown leather baldric slings over his right shoulder, harnessing his cutlass. Matching the baldric is a thick belt over a purple sash across the waist, along with a handy pouch to hold his flasks of liquor across his backside. Grey knee breeches and the typical black and leather bucket boots cover his bottom half, causing his height to be just over six feet tall.

Pirate's Graveyard
Tarragon City
Water-types, all around level 50
Medal Given - Storm Pin
TM18, Rain Dance
Stadium . Description:
Built upon a man (and Pokemon)-made isle, Pirate's Graveyard is fashioned after a typical coliseum. However its grounds are comprised of sparse and randomly placed small patches of sandbars, with three-quarters of the rest surrounded by the Galingale Ocean itself. Strewn about is the wreckage of pirate ships; the shattered remnants of Jaeger's fleet serves as the cold reminder of his duty to the Empire. Broken masts with tattered sails jut out like forlorn obelisks. On the calmly rippling waves, pieces of flotsam and driftwood from the fleet meander aimlessly.

General:
Through and through Jaeger is a pirate from the Galingale seas. Nearly every facet of his persona reflects upon his history. First to note is his lack of eloquence and manners- he completely ignores common etiquette, class structure, and courtesy. Dreadfully blunt and crass his language is rude, simple, and unsympathetic. While lacking in tact and definitely abrasive, he does have a sense of humor (albeit ribald).
Going hand in hand with his lack of respect are Jaeger's vices. Alcohol happens to be one of his biggest weaknesses, as there are times when he is loath to be sober. With that, he is a lecher and pervert, freely womanizing whenever he can. Lies slip his tongue often, especially in regards to his ego; oftentimes the truth is bloated so much that fiction is clearly differentiated from fact. Lastly he is unfazed by blood and violence- he has shed life from man and Pokemon before and will unflinchingly do so time and time again. In a manner of survival of the fittest, he also believes that what he can pilfer is rightfully his.
Despite these callous and asocial tendencies Jaeger does have his own sense of honor. Even if he steals from the weak, he finds it disgusting to end their lives. Bound by a pirate's code, he can bargain and listen to reason. On that same vein he is loyal to his Pokemon, friends, and family, ready to shed his own blood in an instant for those he cares about. Even if it is tough love, it is love nonetheless. His drunken antics, speech, and bravado mask a former Captain of corsairs, easily causing him to be underestimated, and seen as only a slovenly brute. Not that he's swayed about the opinion of others concerning him.
History
Family:
Jaeger - “The Third†- Adoptive father - Deceased
Thyri - “The Tempest†- Blood sister - Age twenty-seven
Bjorn - “The Butcher†- Former Quartermaster and “Brother†- Age forty-four
Hertz - “The Hurt†- Former Master and “Brother†- Deceased
General:
Upon the Outskirts of the Empire, a boy and his younger sister Thyri were born to a simple fisherman and his wife that lacked a surname, as common-folk that lived day by day. Taught to respect the Galingale Ocean and its bounty, the youths quickly picked up swimming and knowledge of the fickle sea. Little did they know that the tides of fate would sweep them in its tumultuous waves in the years to come.
The first life and death experience occurred when the boy, now nine, found himself paddling after his father's fishing boat. In a small Spheal-skin coracle he was eager to join his father's catch. Unbeknownst to him, however, was that his tiny boat was the ideal prey for a ravenous pack of Carvanha. Without warning the coracle nearly exploded, caving in on itself, as multiple pairs of jaws began to shred apart the boat. Screaming for his life the boy attempted to fight off the pack with a simple wooden paddle. He managed to knock one aside and cast his net at the stunned foe, before the crunching of wood and rows of teeth would engulf him. Thankfully, his father's fishing assistant Lanturn had heard his cries for help, discharging a blinding shock that nearly vaporized all of the Carvanha... save the one that the boy had caught on his own. After a thorough disciplining the boy learned his lesson, but also gained a thick-headed yet faithful companion that would help him if he ever got reckless again.
By the time the boy was twelve, he had finally earned the right to go on a true fishing expedition with his father. The boy was now a man, and after a grueling grind all day, the two managed to catch quite an impressive haul. Unfortunately the first catch would be their last. Smoke blew off on the coast once they neared their home; a ship that docked at their shore held a black flag with a Marowak's skull and crossbones as their house burned to the ground. The rest the boy could not remember... in a haze father and son attempted to fight the intruders that razed their lives and threatened mother and sister. While the family struggled desperately against the marauders, he vaguely recalled his Carvanha evolving into Sharpedo at some junction, alongside his sister's Staryu also growing into a Starmie, but the smoke blinded him (or was it his tears?).
Either way when he came to, his body was wracked with cuts, blisters, and boils. He was on a ship, not his father's fishing boat, recovering on a cot beside his sister. She cried when he came to and embraced him tightly, and the young man realized the fate of their parents. The Captain of the vessel introduced himself as Jaeger and sorrowfully apologized to the youths- some of his men had deserted his crew and decided to pillage for themselves. It was never Jaeger's intention for any of this to happen, and as his men took the lives of their parents, he was now honor bound to father them in his stead. This ship, the Pelagus Regnum, would now be their home. Its crew would be their family.
While bitter and resentful, the young man had no other choice. He and his sister had no money or possessions to their name. What was worse that this pirate Jaeger had the audacity to call them his son and daughter- especially when his own men were responsible for killing their parents and taking away everything from them. It soon turned into numerous failed attempts at revenge with the young man always failing to kill his new-found father. Jaeger's blasted Kraken, a Tentacruel, and leviathan Shokuin, a crimson Gyarados, halted any attempts on his life. Besides the cold-blooded killer was bigger, stronger, faster.
For years this game would continue, until the young man realized that this ruthless pirate wasn't as horrible as he seemed to be at first. Of course, Jaeger was boisterous, vulgar, and crude, but his actions spoke otherwise. Their crew raided strictly Empire-related trading vessels, solely the rich, and spared their victims' lives time and time again. Murder only occurred when there was no other way. While the corsair and his crew's reputation were nothing but ill-spoken at any port, the poor always honored him and were in turn given gifts- usually to hide the brigands from the Empire's watchful eye. Soon the siblings finally saw that Jaeger was truly a benevolent man with a soft side of kindness underneath a rigid exterior, and finally accepted him as their father. As a gift, Jaeger now called the boy “Young Jaeger,†and the girl his “Shining Star,†giving them both two of his trusted Pokemon companions to be their personal guards. For Young Jaeger, a Kabutops, for Thyri, a Kingdra.
After nearly a decade as part of Jaeger's crew, the two siblings grew into their own. “Young Jaeger†was now being called “The Fourth,†the legitimate successor to his adopted father, eerily similar in so many ways. Thyri was now known as “The Tempest,†for her brutal swiftness in both tongue and action. Their exploits were becoming renowned throughout the country, their fleet impressive. The siblings each manned their own crew and ship, alongside a pair of their elder “brothers,†Bjorn and Hertz. Their successes would soon lead to downfall.
With each plunder, the crew realized the more their informants would be incorrect about their details, for example, how much larger the armed convoys accompanying the Empire's vessels were than they truly were. The exact nature of their routes, what cargo they held, the number of armed guards on each ship. Before long any information they received was immediately bunk and raids were becoming less and less, and turning more into flight lest they would be overwhelmed by the odds. Soon the Empire amassed a mighty naval army to combat the pirates head on.
There was nowhere left to turn. Allies on land had abandoned them, morale sunk into the abyss, and the future was grim. The Third Jaeger had decided that he would turn himself in alone and become a decoy with a few of his most trusted men. Meanwhile the Fourth, Thyri, and the majority of the crews would escape on a single ship. That plan would never come to fruition. Bjorn, their sworn brother, had sent messenger Pidgeys in the dead of night, alluding the Empire to their scheme.
The resulting battle was swift and merciless, the Battle of Red Rain. Nearly the entirety of the Third's crew had been wiped out. Almost all ships were smashed, save for Bjorn's. It was in this bloody nightmare that the Fourth lost his left eye to the former Wetland Imperial Knight, a fellow master of Water-type Pokemon, yet triumphed in the end. Several new scars were added both physically and mentally. Hertz had fallen saving him and his sister. He witnessed the Third fight until his last breath, surrounded by corpses of his family, with the defiant and unstoppable Kraken and Shokuin rampaging beside him.
After the storm of blood and sea had finished, a barely standing Fourth and Thyri were forced to stop the berserk Kraken and Shokuin, for nothing else could contain them. Instead of executing them both like the rest of their family were, a better notion was struck. Jaeger would serve as an Imperial Knight for each year of dissidence he took against the Emperor, along with slaying the former Knight of the Wetlands. As insurance of his loyalty, his sister Thyri would be a ward, or a glorified hostage, in service to the Empire. Only several years have passed since then and Jaeger is appalled as both a “Knight†and privateer; he finds half of his work no more than butchery. Letters have been sent between he and Thyri and he hopes within a decade or so they can finally roam the seas together again.
Pokemon
Tentacruel
Kraken
Level 50
Water/Poison
Female
Rain Dish: If Heavy Rain weather is in effect, recovers 1/16th max Hit Points at the end of the turn.
Hydro Pump - Sludge Wave - Toxic - Rain Dance - Protect - Haze
Personality:
Kraken is the oldest of Jaeger's Pokemon. While listening obediently to the Fourth, it also has trouble being confined to a Pokeball for long periods of time and seems to be slower the longer it is without water. Its talents lie in outlasting other Pokemon through poisoning and healing itself via rain. Kraken seems somewhat like a mentor and guardian to the rest of Jaeger's team, using its elongated tentacles to keep the others in check at times. It enjoys fishing more than fighting, easily hauling in catches no human could possibly achieve.
Gyarados
Shokuin
Level 50
Water/Flying
Male
Intimidate: Upon entering battle, the opponent’s Attack lowers one stage. In a Double Battle, both opponents’ Attack are lowered. Pokémon with the Clear Body, Hyper Cutter, or White Smoke ability are unaffected.
Waterfall - Ice Fang - Earthquake - Bounce - Thunder Wave - Dragon Dance
Personality:
Shokuin is the second oldest of Jaeger's Pokemon. Ever since the loss of the Third it has been enraged, oftentimes going berserk when released from its Pokeball, by Dragon Dancing and unleashing a torrent of frenzied attacks. While unfortunate for their opponents, the Fourth is usually able to calm the beast down after a round or two. Otherwise Shokuin loves nothing more than sailing the seas, soaring (over) protectively about Jaeger in the salty skies.
Sharpedo
Jiaoyu
Level 48
Water/Dark
Female
Speed Boost: Speed increases by one stage each turn except the turn that the Pokémon is switched into battle.
Waterfall - Crunch - Ice Fang - Aqua Jet - Zen Headbutt - Protect
Personality:
Jaeger's first Pokemon. Over the years the two have formed a strong bond, where almost no commands are needed to be issued, as Jiaoyu eerily does whatever its trainer wishes. Then again there is hardly any thoughts needed, as Jiaoyu's job is to punish the stragglers at the end of a battle and tear through the weakened remnants with blistering speed. Jiaoyu's normally antagonistic and hard-headed nature, coupled with its kleptomania, is the main reason Jaeger keeps it within a pokeball.
Kabutops
Tlaloc
Level 49
Water/Rock
Male
Swift Swim: When rainy, The Pokémon’s Speed doubles. However, Speed will not double on the turn weather becomes Heavy Rain.
Waterfall - Stone Edge - Aqua Jet - Brick Break - Swords Dance - Rain Dance
Personality:
After given to the Fourth as a gift from the Third, Tlaloc is faithful and will do everything in its power to fight for the Fourth. Blessed with a stomach as tough as its claws, and with the same penchant for drinking as the Fourth, Tlaloc accompanies his drinking. Its sickle arms often awkwardly fumble with bottles, usually breaking them. Jaeger and Tlaloc keep their blades sharp by sparring when not under the influence as well. Overall a pretty jolly and easily enthused Pokemon.
Kingdra
Ketos
Level 48
Water/Dragon
Male
Swift Swim: When rainy, The Pokémon’s Speed doubles. However, Speed will not double on the turn weather becomes Heavy Rain.
Surf - Draco Meteor - Dragon Pulse - Ice Beam - Outrage - Rain Dance
Personality:
Ketos was originally a gift for Jaeger's sister, Thyri, from the Third. While loyal to its family, Ketos has no problem obeying Jaeger, but it longs for and misses Thyri. At one moment it may unleash a devastating surge of comets from the sky, or fly into an irrepressible outrage, or simply let loose its tears in the rain. Regardless the guardian dragon wishes to reunite with its trainer and will stop at nothing to get that back. Ketos is somewhat shy and prefers to keep its distance, save for the opportunities it enjoys surfing with Jaeger.
Starmie
Satet
Level 49
Water/Psychic
Genderless
Natural Cure: The Pokémon’s status (BURN, PARALYZE, SLEEP, POISON, FREEZE) is healed when withdrawn from battle.
Hydro Pump - Psyshock - Thunder - Grass Knot - Calm Mind - Recover
Personality:
Satet was Thyri's first Pokemon and is now under the service of Jaeger. Like Ketos, Satet's prerogative is to fight for its trainer's freedom. Taking advantage of its psychic abilities, it attacks without Jaeger's command and instead reads his mind for the next course of action. It seems to trigger waves of empathy, feeling very strongly of Jaeger's and its fellow Pokemon's emotional states. Therefore Satet is a pillar for them, reinforcing positive thoughts and energy.
