[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] THE RULES [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][tr][atrb=style,][atrb=cellspacing,0,true]Just like any other role-playing site, we have rules that must be followed. Don't fret, these are just some common sense sort-of things, but we don't think a friendly reminder will hurt. ;P [atrb=cellspacing,0,true] BASICS 01. R-e-s-p-e-c-t, find out what it means to... us Respect is a must when interacting with one another, be it an Administrator, a Moderator, or any Member on the site. Don't flame anyone, don't be rude towards anyone, no trolling, you know the drill. Swearing is fine, just as long as every other word isn't a cuss, and that it abides by the Proboards Guidelines.
On that note, also please keep all vulgar subjects to a minimum. Sadly all Proboard sites must be PG-13. There will be violence, but please keep the descriptions of such activity within a respectable spectrum. All sexual content beyond kissing must be left to our imaginations. In other words, don't go overboard. Thanks!
02. One Account Per Character. Every character will have their own account on HB. This makes it easier to keep track of posts, and make plotting much more efficient. It's also just more fun, at least in my opinion (more customization, what what!). So, if you're on Jack's account, and decide to make him a friend named Jill, you have to make Jill her own account. Got it?
03. You'll get an A... for effort. We accept all types of roleplayers here, but please note that we do expect effort in your posts. We don't count words, we count substance. Obviously if you're fighting against someone, we don't expect a three to four paragraph reply... a one or two will do just fine, just as long as it gives your fellow members something to work with. I can't tell you how many times I've stared at a reply, going 'Well, they didn't give me much of anything to work with... so... what do I do?' You don't want to stump your friend, you want to encourage them to reply! Make sense?
04. Admin have the final say. We will always try our best to keep things fair on the site. However, there are times when members may disagree. If such a time happens, the Admin will have the final say. If it's a fight over something unrelated to the roleplay, we will ask that conversation is ended or moved off the site. Please do not argue with the admin or mods. If you feel they are in the wrong you are welcome to notify another admin about the issue.
05. Be Active! We can't RP if you're not active! Obviously stuff happens in real life that may take you away, but if something like this does occur, please drop us a message in the 'Hello/Goodbye' topic, which can be found in our OOC category.
If you play a character in an important position and go inactive, your character may be adopted by a more active member. We are determined to keep the plot moving, no matter what. However, if you give us notice of your absence, this won't be an issue. Just let us know!
06. Have FUN! That's what role-playing is all about, isn't it?
[atrb=cellspacing,0,true] IN CHARACTER 01. Leaving and Entering the Empire. All characters must be born within the Empire of Dowr. That means, no one should be from Kanto or any other places from the pokemon Game. This is because the current plot will not allow outsiders from the other lands.
Characters are welcome to 'try' and leave the Empire, however, you are not allowed to say the made it out. They can make it to the boarder of the land. Then you must either, A) wait for an Admin/Mod to post or B) have your character turn back around.
02. We aren't quite Gods, sadly. Don't Godmod or Powerplay. Its just unrealistic. For those of you unaware of what Godmodding is, let me show you.
Powerplaying: Do - Jimmy snapped, throwing his fist forward in a punch aimed squarely for Jake's jaw. Do not - Jimmy snapped, crashing his fist into Jake's face before he could react, sending him spiralling to the ground.
Do - Jake’s eyes widened as he attempted to dodge the fist aimed for his face. Sadly he was not that quick and a surge of pain was felt in his cheek from the heavy blow. Do - Jake’s eyes widened as he attempted to dodge the fist aimed for his face. Luckily it had just missed and whipped past his cheek instead. Do not - Jake swiftly dodged the attack by grabbing Jimmies fist before it could hit him. He then countered with an even stronger punch than Jimmy’s!
You cannot control someone else's character. You can not be invincible. You cannot kill another person's character without permission. Hokay?
03. Like a Boss… In third person. Please keep all posts in third person and in the past tense. I know this isn’t always easy. Even I mix it up often. Usually I tend to mix up my past tense. Grammar mistakes do happen.
Correct: “Pie is the very best” Hermainstine said with a big smile. Incorrect: “Pie is the very best” I said with a big smile.
Correct: Hermainstine smiled at his pokemon before turning to grab his bag. Incorrect: Hermainstine smiles at his pokemon before turning and grabbing his bag.
04. Who am I? Unique. Do your best to make your character unique yet still playable. Obviously we don’t want any mary sue’s (Characters with overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms and lack noteworthy flaws). Also try to keep your character believable. Everything bad that could possibly happen to one human being is almost as bad as creating a mary sue. That doesn’t mean bad, or many bad things couldn’t have happened to your character. Just keep in mind that the more negative accepts often causes more mental and physical issues with people.
All characters should have good aspects and bad aspects about them, just like in any real person. For example, Herminstine may be a magnificent cook, but he always seems to burn the dumplings. Flaws are common within every human but we still have our good sides.
05. Age. This site supports characters of all ages. However, keep in mind that age can be limiting. A very young character wouldn’t be seen walking the streets alone. That being said, a very old character wouldn’t be climbing walls and chasing after Rapidash’s either.
06. Posts here, there and everywhere! Please keep in mind you may only have One catching thread. However, there are exceptions to this rule. If you and another member are exploring an area together, you may request a mod to join. After all, wild pokemon don't only show up when you are alone. You may also request a mod to bring in an NPC. These are characters that you might need to help move along your thread. You don't need a mod to roleplay a simple waitress giving you food. But, if you want to kidnap that waitress you are probably going to need a mod to play her for you. Use your judgement on this. If you aren't sure, ask.
There is no limit to the number of Open threads you may have on this site. However, please try to keep a timeline on your threads and don’t enter more than you can handle.
Always assume that all mod threads have happened after your Open threads. In other words, if you start an open thread with only four pokemon in your party, you can not suddenly have a fifth one appear in your thread simply because you caught it in your Mod thread.
07. Completed that chapter! When you complete a thread, please change the title so it has a (C) or (Completed) at the end. An admin or mod will come along, give you any extra info you might need and will move the thread for you.
08. Pokemorphs. Because of the complications with the plot, pokemorphs are not only discouraged, but also disallowed. No character can be a "human/pokemon hybrid", by supernatural occurrence, birth, nor genetic manipulation. Pokemorphs are also not found in the wild nor can they be captured.
[atrb=cellspacing,0,true] THE CBOX 01. R-e-s-p-e-c-t, find out what it means to... us. Respect is a must when interacting with one another, be it an Administrator, a Moderator, or any Member on the site. Don't flame anyone, don't be rude towards anyone, no trolling, you know the drill. Swearing is fine, just as long as every other word isn't a cuss, and that it abides by the Proboards Guidelines.
02. Admin have the final say. We will always try our best to keep things fair on the site. However, there are times when members may disagree. If such a time happens, the Admin will have the final say. If it's a fight over something unrelated to the roleplay we will ask that conversation is ended or moved off the site. Please do not argue with the admin or mods. If you feel they are in the wrong you are welcome to notify another admin about the issue.
03. Advertising is a No, no. As the title says, advertising in the cbox is not aloud. Keep all advertisements in the advertising boards.
04. Text Colours. Please make sure that your text is readable. No black on black. Bwhahaha, got yah! You can't change your text colour in our cbox silly. It wont let you. But you know now in case you weren't sure. *Hides before someone decides to slap me*
[atrb=cellspacing,0,true] IMAGES 01. Image Content. Please remember to keep all images pg13. Sure, your character can be nude, but the private spots must be covered. Nude Sailor Moon style! Your images should never be offensive or hurtful.
02. Face Claims. All face claims should be 2D. That means no 3D artwork of the characters and no real life people. You are welcome to draw your characters. You do not have to have a face claim though it is recommended.
03. Icons. All Icons should be 100x100 pixels. No larger or smaller. Transparency is fine. It should relate to your character somehow.
04. Signatures All Signatures should be no larger than 500x200 pixels. We don't want it stretching the page or taking up too much room.
05. Posting Templates All images in a posting template should never have a width greater than 500 pixels. Everything else is up to you.
